Polyurethane Body Armor Care and Maintenance

The way you care about your breastplate will reflect on its durability and appearance. Although polyurethane LARP body armor doesn’t require constant cleaning and extra care, it can benefit from regular maintenance. That means you should wipe it down with a damp cloth after every action scene to prevent grime build-up and clean any spills and stains as soon as they occur. Be gentle and use only soft materials — stiff brushes are not acceptable.

Avoid rinsing the breastplate or saturating it in water in any way: both the main body and leather straps could get damaged and deformed from wetness. It can handle mild soap solutions, but make sure to pat it dry right away. Absolutely avoid harsh chemicals like alcohol, bleach, and vinegar. UV exposure and dry cleaning can damage and discolor the chestplate. Once you carefully clean it by hand, do not leave it in the sun to dry. Store it in a shaded, dry place when you are not taking part in action scenes, and wipe it down from dust once a week.
